Day 179 & 180: Ha Long Bay

Over the past couple of days we have spent our time lounging around on a boat in Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO site up in the north coast of Vietnam. It is incredibly beautiful, but at the same time the water is so polluted and its so touristy there so it sort of ruins the whole area. We still had an amazing time, it was just such a shame to see such a beautiful area in such bad condition. On the first day we cruised around the islands and then stopped off to have a kayak around the floating fishing villages, as well as look into some rather weirdly lit caves which had some bizarre tinkly music playing outside them. On the second night we stayed in some bungalows on a little island just off the main island of Cat Ba-which was incredibly beautiful as well, and had the pleasure of seeing another insane sunset.
