Day 170: Manly beach

So today Moll and I caught the ferry over to Manly and got to see a bit of Sydney Harbour and then the Opera House. When we got back in the evening we met up with Pip (another girl who was living at Moll's hostel) and her friend and went for a yummy hot choccie.

Day 166: Goodbye Melb!!

The last three months have gone past so quickly, I cannot believe it was that long ago that I arrived here and began living in Melbourne. I only have three months left, I know that still seems like a long time. But in comparison to leaving my family at Heathrow in December with 9 months ahead of me, 3 seems like nothing! I am so excited to start backpacking again, I began to get itchy feet a couple of weeks ago and really want to start being a bit of a tourist again. I have had the most incredible time here and have been the luckiest person to meet some beautiful people who have made me feel so at home and welcomed. I will be back in a couple of months, but until then I need to escape the Melbourne winter. My plan for the next few days is to head up to Sydney with Mollie to see an old friend from school and then on the 1st I fly to Hanoi where I will meet up with Clem! Also Georgia, Rob, Tess and I all went for an amazing breakfast at Short Round this morning, which was a little restaurant in Thornbury I have been wanting to try for ages.

Saying bye to Georgia, one of the girls I lived with, after breakie as I won't be seeing her when I get home, instead she will be in Indonesia where she is building a sculpture for a community.

Day 161: Clem is back and last match with Trinity Grammar!

I had my last match today with Trinity and they played so so well. All of them have improved so much and its amazing to see them all playing well as a team, with most of them having started completely from scratch! Also Clem has just arrived from Sydney! Its been so long since I saw her (just over 2 months), even though we skyped or texted almost everyday anyway, and its so lovely to have her back here! I have my last few shifts left at work before I need to pack up all my things and start backpacking again in Asia!! Getting very excited as it is getting extremely cold here and the thought of lying on the beach in Vietnam or Cambodia is seriously tempting.

Day 160: MCC juniors

Today was my last match with the U16 club team before I head off to Asia, I will still have a  few matches with them when I get back though! They played so amazingly tonight, thrashing the other team and we only had 9 players!

Day 149: spot of volleyball on the beach

This was actually my first ever time on the beach in Melbourne and it was seriously cold but we had the funniest time playing volleyball. There was also the most gorgeous sunset over the bay tonight.

Day 142: Cycling to work

I cycle through South Yarra Bend park to get across town to Hawthorn on a Monday morning and this is it! Cycling around Melbourne is so easy, plus I upgraded from the beach cruiser to an off road bike,  (still slightly heavy) but a huge improvement as I finally have gears now!
