Day 139: Last match with St. Catherine's

We finally won!! I had my last match with St Catherine’s this afternoon and we won our first match! Usually we can never make up a full team, but this time we had 11, plus someone actually wanted to be goalie rather than having to pick on someone. They were so cute and were so happy to win which made all the early morning wake ups to cycle across Melbourne to coach them worth it!

Day 126: MCC junior team

I’ve also started coaching one of the junior teams (U16) at MCC (the club I play for), and so far we are doing pretty well. We are in the same league as the other U16 team at the MCC and today we beat them, which is a pretty good effort seeing as we usually are calling up people the night before and calling in players-some of whom it was their first time. Also all the sports clubs here have their own "anthem" or club song and they all sing it after a match if they win. (I'm rubbish as I still haven't fully learnt our club song yet!)

Day 119: Hooked

I am working at a little fish and chip place called Hooked on Brunswick Street, in North Fitzroy which is about a half hour cycle away down a nice cycle path. All the people there are so lovely and its really nice and relaxed. Dino, the chef, made me one of their tuna burgers the other day which was just amazing- made my day. It was a piece of tuna steak with wasabi mayo and various other things- so yum! Anyway the photo below is what the restaurant looks like! Also I have been really rubbish at keeping up to date on here, but I have just written lots of things and posted lots of photos to make up for it!

Day 116: Sunrise

On Tuesday mornings I have to coach St. Cat's at 7am over in a place called Hawthorn which is quite far away from me. But it was made slightly worthwhile this morning by an incredible sunrise.

Day 115: Day off

I didn't have any work or coaching today so I took the chance to have a wonder around Smith Street and around the centre. I found some amazing book shops and also few cool clothes shops etc.

Day 114: Around the Northern Suburbs and Lunch

Today was a pretty chill day, took some photos of around where I live and went for lunch  in Fitzroy with Rob and Tess who I met in South America. Its also getting very autumnal here and it rains a bit. Although everyone here is quite happy because I think they had a really dry summer and were in need of the rain!

Day 111: St Cat's first match

So I have started coaching now at to schools, St Catherine's (a girls school) and Trinity Grammar (boys grammar school). I coach the girls at 7am on a Tuesday (yes 7AM!!!!) and then our matches are on a Thursday afternoon. For the boys they have a slightly less antisocial coaching time on a Wednesday afternoon with Saturday morning matches. We had our first match with St. Cat's against Camberwell today and the girls played really well but sadly lost 2-0.
